Serendipity

Every decision you’ve ever made has led you to this very moment. Engulfed in emotions that anxiously wait to sweep you from reality. We get lost in thought, lost in all the “what if’s” and “I wish”. Then we get hit with the cold hard truth that brings us crashing back down to our current life. Every choice we were given, all of the decisions we’ve ever made, every movement taken has pushed us to where we are. We can’t step backwards, and tomorrow isn’t written. Today, right now, this is what we have to work with.

What people see, even those closest to you will never be your reality. Your reality will always be miscued by perception. The perception they share of you or there own misguided perception of intent. What some might pursue because of passion, others will perceive as stupidity and selfishness because there is no financial gain. What people don’t know becomes fear for what they do know or what they think they know. It sounds confusing but it’s actually quite simple. A person who pursues a career of passion makes nothing for the first couple years until one day their passion is honed and seen as valuable. They start making a beautiful living off what they love. Those who have looked at this person as simply selfish for pursuing something that has no value will also see that this person is happier and thriving. Their perception doesn’t allow for them to see anything else then what they think they know. So now this person is a person that becomes untrustworthy because they made financial gains in an area they have no expertise in.

Simply put, all the decisions we’ve made in life, whether it was moving out, or pursuing our passions, no one knows what you’ve gone through. No one knows your story better than you. Your reality is a reality that only exist because you know of it. Walk in silence, walk with pride, let your work become a staple for all the action you’ve taken by yourself over the years of your hard work and dedication. The choices given to us weren’t the best but we did the best we could with them.

I’m proud of all of you for having made those decisions because if you hadn’t you wouldn’t be here. There is no time for regret, no time to give to those who don’t share the same love you do. So walk tall and proud. As someone who’s recently had to figure this out on my own, I am the happiest I have been and now I walk towards a future instead of dreading my past.
