“I Love You”
A phrase that encapsulates every bit of emotion that someone bares deep within there heart and soul. When said to someone truly deserving, it’s the transfer of trust, love, confidence and vulnerability. When reciprocated, it’s a feeling that cannot be replaced. It fills the body with a warmth that comforts us. Gives us a sense of purpose. A purpose for why we do what we do in life, who we do it for.
“I Love You”
A phrase I avoided using for many years. I thought I was suppose to be strong. I thought being strong meant never being vulnerable to the pain of not having my feelings reciprocated. I quickly learned how short love can be, how not saying it sometimes meant others never knowing how I felt. I say it now because I know one day, as we grow and get older, it becomes less frequent.
I say “Good Morning, I love you” and “Good night, I love you” so that those I love and care for understand that when they wake up to face the day, someone thought of them. So that at the end of the day, when they are tired from the battles of the day, I am there to comfort them, listen to them, support them through whatever it is. I learned the importance of “I Love You” because for a time period of my life, I had no one to say it too. It hurt to love and not be able to say it. I used the phrase sparingly and only for those I truly love.
Happy holidays and Merry Christmas to all, I want you to go to those you love and let them know. Say “I Love You” because the person you love deserves to know. They deserve to see your heart and soul, to know you trust them, are confident in them, are vulnerable to them. That is love. Love is powerful, let them know and smile through the holidays. You are all doing absolutely amazing.
