The Calm in Complete Chaos

Solitude

It is in solitude that I find solace. The only time my mind speaks without persuasion. For the world is an ever growing chamber of what used to be and what will be, my soul is still learning to comprehend the ways of the world. Solitude is feared for some do not understand the abyss of the human mind. The purity in which solitude brings is a purity that one cannot taint with influence of the outside world. That is solitude. For you are faced against your deepest fears. The monsters that you have hidden from the world, the truth that lies beneath the fables we tell the world.

Who are you? Truly? When not influenced by the outside world, when you are left with only yourself, when everything you’ve done comes into question. Now, Who are you?

This is solitude.

I believe that solitude is necessary, for it allows us to reflect on our ways. To take in who we’ve become, for better or for worse. We are who we have become, but it does not define who we could be. What defines that, is the decision you make after having faced solitude.

I have faced solitude multiple times and I know I will continue to do so as I journey through life. It was in solitude that I found solace but it wasn’t always like that. I struggled because I was faced with the reality of knowing how stupidly selfish and ignorant I was. I was arrogant, money hungry and what they led to was excuses I made for myself. I was forced to look at the monster because I had nothing anymore. I was lost and solitude was all i was left with. Subconsciously I think we all know that solitude is there, but because of our innate fear, we comprise our lives of activities and excuses so that we bury solitude so far inside that we forget… or so that’s the hope.

We think that when we are faced with such a dark and vicious part of life that we have to fight. That solitude is this being that comes for who we are like the reaper waiting for us to die.

It is only dark and vicious because we were the one’s to bury it into a dark place in our soul. For when we cleanse our selves of that, that has slowly destroyed our lives we can finally see that solitude was a means for peace. To bring comfort to us, and who we could be. Walk forward towards solitude and face your fears. Yes, there is pain but pain will strengthen our mind and body for what is to come.

“Do not live simply just to live, live because we know we can be something or someone great for those we love.”
