The Calm in Complete Chaos

Who Am I?

During our journey throughout life, this question will pose itself to us in ways that will challenge our initial thoughts of who we are. We mark milestones in our lives and through those milestones, slowly, brick by brick, we are able to build upon our character. We will march through the great terrains of life, seeking for our own success and in doing so, we will be met with the countless failures that will break our character. Where we spent time building this character, there will also be times where this character becomes broken and dismantled.

This decision, to pick up the broken pieces or walk away, becomes a huge factor in the inevitable question of “Who am I?”

So, who am I?

Through all the successes and failures in my life, in my current state, I too question at times who I really am. I’ve always said that I am a dreamer, a husband, a son, a brother and in my heart of hearts I hope to some even a father figure. I have no regrets for the decisions I’ve made in life, my only regret is never having been enough. I don’t know what others may see me as, but I will always try my best to be who I have to be for them.

I am far from perfect. So far from ever being who I dreamt I would be. I still struggle to maintain healthy relationships and because of that I have a lot of doubt. My soul has been wounded and I’ve lost communication with who I am but my mind is logical and holds onto what small memories I do have.

The terrains of life are not meant for everyone, but they can be. With persistence and resilience we can build a tolerance. We may not know what will come but at least we stood up and took steps.

So, who am I? I am a human who loves dearly. I hold onto my love for my job, my family and those I deem close to my heart. I will make mistakes but I will not fear what comes of it because I know that I am a version of me that needs to be so that I may be who I have to be.

So the question I ask now is, who are you?

One response to “Who Am I?”

  1. Great question, who are you, you should ask yourself this question every single day whilst consider what you’re grateful for at the end of the day. What 3 things are you grateful for today?

About Me

I’m no one more special than any of you reading this. I work as a custodian during the evenings but every other time of the day I spend chasing a dream I’ve had since I was 16.
I have always believed there to be more to this life and I hope with this blog, my stories and journey in life, that I can share my experiences with all of you.
