Serendipity

Time is forever moving. Even if our lives stop, time continues to move forward with no regard for what we are going through. Even during some of the harshest times of my life, time was the only constant. As I stood in place, stuck in life, time continued to move. With time also came age, with time also came moments in life that I had missed. Time did not care because what time was, was simply an existence.

This existence of time is a book that is to be filled with beautiful moments. These pages are limited to the life that we live, so that at the end of our existence we may open this book and look back and see how fulfilled our life was.

It pains me to look into my own life and see how much of time I ignored simply because of selfishness and arrogance. We spend so much of our lives focused on the insignificant, what then becomes of our book? Being filled with meaningless fights and arguments. Unnecessary and misguided anger. The pursuit of selfish riches. 

All this only led to gaps in my life where when I look into this book, I missed out on so much that time cannot give me.

I never fully understood what my father meant when he said “you grew up, and in the blink of an eye you were in college.” It wasn’t until recent days that I would understand the heart break that came with those words.

I missed so much and I am truly sorry for that. Dinners, graduations, dreams and love. I cannot fix what has been done but I can understand my doings and be there now. I do my best now while still pursuing my dreams. I am not a perfect human but I am willing to learn and adapt. What I could not do, I can try now.

Please, time is precious, our book is limited to the life that we have. Fill this book with moments that matter the most. Never let trivial matters destroy the beauty that could be the moments in which cause you to smile for decades. Be there for  your family and friends, be there because one day when you read back on this page of your book, you’ll smile while sharing it to those you love.
