The Calm in Complete Chaos

It’s Okay

It’s okay not to know. It’s okay to feel the pressure you feel. It’s okay to not be okay. The truth is, this world was never built for us to know everything, for us to be pressure free or for us to be okay all the time. You are one in 8 billion people that exists on this massive planet we call earth. The knowledge that exist for us is knowledge that connects us to eventually who we will become. The pressures of life build us a tolerance that is needed to keep us strong and resilient. Understanding that you don’t have to be okay all the time is why you’re okay now.

It’s okay not to know. Not knowing is why you will know. Yes, among us are those we deem in society to be intelligent. Those who function very differently than some of us. We have chess masters, multi billion dollar business owners, but above just being intelligent, is being curious. Understand what knowledge is. Knowledge is something that is attainable, something that we have yet to know. What if you were to know? What if you were curious enough to want to know. That is when curiosity outweighs intelligence. It is with curiosity that we have the discovery of fire. This one discovery would eventually lead us to the evolutionary changes from Neanderthals’ to who we are now. Where some believe knowledge is the key to intelligence, knowledge exist only with curiosity. Do not push for answers, rather why are these answers the way they are. That is why it is okay to not know because not knowing is only an indicator of what is possible.

It’s okay to feel pressure. Pressure allows us to build a tolerance and resilience to the unknown in life. A question I ask you is, how does one become strong? One simply does not sit at home and develop muscles and strength. No. One must dedicate time, by putting pressure on the muscle allows the muscle to understand the body needs it to become bigger and stronger to help take the pressure and strain off our body. This must be done slowly and steadily so to not harm the body in any capacity. Now take this concept and apply it to life. As we grow up and develop, our exposure to the world becomes an awakening experience. We slowly grow a tolerance to the world around us and the pressures of life. With tolerance comes the strength to help us build upon our flight or fight response. Tolerance builds confidence, strength and perspective. For what pressures we feel, is just a challenge of understanding how capable we really are.

Lastly, it’s okay to not be okay. At what age do we expect ourselves to ever understand what we want? The truth is, I don’t think you’ll ever know. Whether your 18 or 50, every day is just a new discovery. A world filled with wonders, and we expect ourselves to understand what it is that we want by a certain age. It’s okay to not be okay. That’s why your okay. It is the constant worry of being okay that makes us sick. Makes us worry about all the “what if’s” and opportunities that have come and gone. What is being okay? is it being happy right now? Is it a million dollars? Or is it a concept that never ends? If you understand that the world exist with a balance than you’d understand that being happy only exist with sadness right around the corner. If you were given a million dollars, would you know how to use it? It comes with a new set of issues like taxes and money management. This concept of being okay is false. That’s why its okay to not be okay. You’re already strong enough to fight the battles of everyday. Your happiness in life should not be contingent on other factors. For what makes you happy will make you sad as well but your willing to be sad because that’s okay.

So, it’s okay.

About Me

I’m no one more special than any of you reading this. I work as a custodian during the evenings but every other time of the day I spend chasing a dream I’ve had since I was 16.
I have always believed there to be more to this life and I hope with this blog, my stories and journey in life, that I can share my experiences with all of you.
