The Nature of Truth

Perception blinds us, making us ignorant to truths beyond our comprehension. But perception is also necessary—it forms the foundation of our beliefs. However, it must be balanced with perspective. It is within the balance of perception and perspective that our thoughts can be challenged and reshaped.

If a child is taught that 2+2=3, then within their perception, that is their truth. But that doesn’t make it right. Through perspective—whether in a classroom or through a more knowledgeable figure in their life—they may be guided toward a greater understanding. Truth, then, is not merely what we perceive, but what we are willing to question.

Often, our perception is shaped by trauma, culture, or indoctrination. This doesn’t mean it’s wrong or invalid—it is real, and it belongs to us. But with the guidance of perspective, we can slowly open the doors to possibilities beyond our own limited truths.

Truth is vast and ever-changing. No single truth is absolute. The goal is not to determine what is “real” or “false” but to find peace in what truth has to teach us.

At the end of the day, you choose what to believe. That does not mean others are wrong—only that their perception has shaped a different reality. We can either share our truths to build a greater one or remain bound by our own. And in the end, whatever you choose, that in itself is a truth.

About Me

I’m no one more special than any of you reading this. I work as a custodian during the evenings but every other time of the day I spend chasing a dream I’ve had since I was 16.
I have always believed there to be more to this life and I hope with this blog, my stories and journey in life, that I can share my experiences with all of you.
